1. Information We Collect
PilotBox is a community platform for startup founders. We collect information to support your profile, your build-journey posts, and the discovery and matching features that connect founders with programs and enterprises:
- Account & Profile Data: Full name, email, avatar, bio, role title, skills, and social links (LinkedIn, Twitter/X) collected when you create a profile, plus your account type (founder or enterprise).
- Sign-In Data: If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Microsoft, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from that provider.
- Community Content: Posts and any media you attach to them, the startups and founders you follow, and the notifications generated by likes, comments, and follows on your content.
- Founder Submissions: Company name, contact email, website URL, stage, product description, problem mappings, and a security dossier (self-attested by the founder, not independently verified by PilotBox). When a founder shares an evaluation page with an enterprise contact, we also store the demo URL and that contact's email to gate access to the page.
- Enterprise Submissions: Work email, organization name, operational pain points, tech stack requirements, and preferred confidentiality settings.
- Demo Requests: Name, work email, and an optional message submitted by a visitor requesting a demo from a specific startup's public profile. No account is required to submit a demo request.
- Accelerator & Program Submissions: Organization name, contact name and email, website, logo, program type, and portfolio size, submitted through the accelerator application form.
- Contact Form: Your name, email, and message when you contact us directly.
- Usage & Analytics: Standard telemetry (IP addresses, browser type, referral URLs, page engagement metrics) to monitor platform health and security.
2. How Information Is Used
- To display your profile, posts, and follows to other members of the PilotBox community, and to power notifications for likes, comments, and follows.
- To index and display verified startup solutions within our public and curated directories.
- To generate anonymized market intelligence reports and aggregate industry problem trends.
- To facilitate pilot requests and communications between verified founders and enterprise teams when requested.
- To grant access to partner infrastructure credits and perks hubs.
- To send automated transactional emails - notifying a founder of a new demo request, delivering an evaluation-page link to the enterprise contact a founder invited, and notifying an accelerator or program when its application is approved.
3. Enterprise Confidentiality
When an enterprise submits an operational pain point with the "Confidential / Anonymous" option enabled, we strictly strip corporate names, individual identities, and proprietary infrastructure identifiers before surfacing the problem taxonomy to founders.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
PilotBox does not sell, rent, or trade your personal or corporate data to third-party advertisers. We may share information only with authorized infrastructure providers (such as Supabase, Lovable's transactional email service, and hosting providers) strictly necessary to run platform services.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard database encryption (TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest), strict row-level security (RLS) policies, and role-based administrative access controls to protect all platform records.
6. Public Regulatory & Signal Data
PilotBox's pain-point feed is built in part by an automated pipeline that monitors public regulatory filings, industry forums, and other public data sources. Content identified by this pipeline is extracted with AI assistance and always reviewed by PilotBox staff before publication. This process does not involve personal data collection, but we disclose it here as a core part of how content on the platform is sourced.
7. Contact & Data Requests
PilotBox is operated by 4Sure Technologies LLC. For inquiries regarding your data, updates, or deletion requests, contact our privacy team at privacy@pilotbox.dev.
